Electronics & Communication Engineering

The department of Electronics & Communication Engineering started right from the inception of the college in the year 2005 with a vision of imparting high quality education to suit the global standards in Electronics & Communication Engineering. The student intake in the year 2005 was 60 which has been increased to 120 in the Academic year 2007-2008 and further increased to 180 in the academic year 2013-2014.

The department offering 2 PG specializations i.e VLSI System Design and Embedded systems. The department is accredited by NBA in 2013 and Reaccredited in the Year 2017. It has the necessary infrastructural facilities required for imparting high quality education and the department is fully structured to meet the contemporary needs of the industry. Imparting high quality education is supported by well qualified and experienced faculty members supported by dedicated technical staff.

The department organizes workshops, Seminars, Expert lecturers, Group discussions, Competitions, sports and other activities for the all round development of the Electronics & Communication Engineering students. The students in the department are molded into competent core Engg and Software professionals, to face the challenges of the industry sector.

  • To impart high quality in Electronics and communication engineering education through innovative teaching learning processes in order to Maximize knowledge transfer.

PROGRAM EDUCATION OBJECTIVES {PEOS}:

PEO1.To prepare the graduates to meet both the local and global challenges in electronics and communication.

PEO2.To provide expertise through learning advanced courses in various streams of electronics and communication engineering to pursue higher studies and research.

PEO3.To provide graduates with a solid foundation in basic sciences, mathematics,  engineering to analyze, synthesize and evaluate information to achieve expertise in core areas of electronics and communication engineering.

PEO4. To Provide graduates the modern professional practices such as abilities for effective communication, collaborative work in diverse team, ethical decision making, successful management of personal and professional career o development through lifelong learning.

COURSE OUTCOMES AND PROGRAM OUTCOMES

PO.1.Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO.2.Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO.3.Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO.4.Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO.5.Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PO.6.The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

PO.7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

PO.8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
